Please, be polite and well-mannered with the person/people you interview... and be cautious about not coming across as rude or abrasive. Explain you have started a programme of study called Global Issues and that you will be studying British culture and history during two years.
If possible, please record or film your interviews. If it is not possible, please keep a written trace of your conversation.
Next Thursday 22 September, we will listen to and/or watch your interviews.
Please select a one minute extract for the class to enjoy.
We will take notes during each of the interviews, and so together we will collect a solid bank of information.
Next week, I will ask you to write a 1.5 page paper exploring what you understanding "Being British" means today (20 points). I will ask you to include a Works Cited, with both Primary and Secondary sources.
The material you will collect will be considered as a primary source of information.
The articles we have read so far will be considered as secondary sources of information.
The feedback the class gave from the 'triangle exercise ' contained a mixture of primary and secondary sources.
