Masterclass - Power Mix and Economics for Energy Transition

Dear all,

On Thursday 24th November 2022 from 19h00-20h00 we will be running a masterclass on ‘Power Mix and Economics for Energy Transition’ with Professor Salah Morsili, Associate Professor at the French Petroleum Institute and Centrale Supélec, and lecturer at the Polytechnique and Sorbonne.

Professor Morsili will share fundamental insights on energy generation technologies alongside market trends and needs. How do we generate energy? What is the role of energy engineers in the energy sector? Why is our economy tied to energy? What are the current energy trends and what is their impact on households and the economy for the coming winter and beyond.Professor Morsili will also demonstrate how electricity is generated and supplied to French and European households to satisfy their daily needs at the lowest carbon emissions. He will end with an online assessment of our individual digital environment footprint in kg CO2-eq.

The session will be particularly interesting for students who wish to study science and engineering at university and is a great opportunity for students to hear from an expert in the field and a Grande Ecole lecturer. Première students will also find the Masterclasses useful for the Connaissance du Monde module that forms part of the new Baccalauréat Français International (BFI).
